🇰🇷🤫 unique places to travel in south korea I’ve t 🇰🇷🤫 unique places to travel in south korea

I’ve traveled all over korea in the 3 years I lived there, so if you’ve already done seoul + busan or just want to explore beyond the typical tourist trail, here are a few of the places I’d include in your korea itinerary ➡️

🌊 tongyeong: a gorgeous coastal city with colorful murals, island and rocky coast views, and fresh seafood

🏔️ seoraksan + sokcho: dramatic mountains next to a laid-back seaside city. especially beautiful in fall and great for hiking

⛱️ gangneung: some of the best beaches in korea, with seaside coffee shops, seafood, and peaceful bike rides

🍵 boseong: rolling green tea fields across the countryside with lots of photo ops and sample opportunities

🌿 suncheon: wetlands, gardens, and a slower paced city

🌅 yeosu: a coastal city with sunset views, fresh seafood, island hopping, and cliffside temples

🏘️ andong: historic villages, cultural shows, and the chance to try jjimdak, a famous comfort dish

🏯 suwon: an easy day trip from seoul, with the incredible hwaseong fortress and a slower pace

as a korea travel expert, I plan korea trips you can’t just piece together from your algorithm using my years of traveling throughout the country to transform your trip into something truly unique 🌟

🌏✈️ international trip planning and tips that will 🌏✈️ international trip planning and tips that will change how you travel

❌ the most common regret I hear from my new clients about previous trips?

coming home feeling like they need a vacation from their vacation 😪

when it comes to travel planning tips, my top one (as someone who plans custom itineraries every single day for my job) is that your goal shouldn’t be to squeeze as much as possible. it should be to make the time you have feel more intentional, personal, and memorable ✨

thoughtful itinerary pacing matters just as much as, if not more than, where you go. the right mix of planned experiences and unstructured time can COMPLETELY change how a trip feels 🏝️

think about the last time you really fell in love with a destination… was it because you rushed through a checklist of sights? or was it because you slowed down for dinner one night, made friends with a local, or took your time wandering around a cute neighborhood? 🏘️

save this for your next international trip, and visit the link in my bio to revolutionize the way you travel ❣️🔗

where would I send my clients for a family trip to where would I send my clients for a family trip to asia? 🌏

these are my top 5, ranked not just by how much I love the destination, but by how well I think they work for families with different ages, interests and energy levels ➡️

🇸🇬 5: singapore
an easy introduction to asia and one that’s great for littler kids. singapore is clean, safe, and easy to navigate, with a mix of amazing food, cultural experiences and iconic attractions like gardens by the bay and universal studios. great for families who want a little less logistical stress, or those extending an asia cruise.

🇮🇩 4: bali - ubud + nusa lembongan
a great choice for families who want culture, nature, and beach time in one trip, especially those with adult children. ubud has rice terraces, temples, cooking experiences and plenty to explore, while nusa lembongan gives you a more relaxed island finish with beautiful water and snorkeling.

🇰🇷 3: south korea - busan + jeju
I’d pick this combination for families who want something a little different from the typical asia itinerary and have children at least middle-school aged. seoul is great for families, too, but busan has beaches, markets, incredible food, and weekly drone shows, while jeju offers waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, clear water beaches, and more outdoor adventures.

🇯🇵 2: japan - tokyo + kyoto
probably the easiest destination on this list to get the whole family excited about, and one especially great for teenagers. tokyo has theme parks, pop culture, shopping, and endless food options, while kyoto has temples, traditional experiences like tea ceremonies, and a more relaxed pace.

🇹🇭 1: thailand - chiang mai + koh lanta
my pick for the families that want the best balance of adventure and relaxation, making it great for any age range. start in chiang mai for temples, markets, cooking classes and unforgettable cultural experiences, then slow down on koh lanta for calm beaches, snorkeling, and family-friendly island time.

because the whole family deserves something to look forward to, whether that means a first adventure with little kids, a multigenerational getaway, or meaningful time with adult children 🫶

I ❤️ Busan this oceanside city in south korea doe I ❤️ Busan

this oceanside city in south korea doesn’t get as much hype as seoul, but it’s totally worth a few days!

delicious food, beautiful hotels, stunning views of both coasts and mountains… it’s quieter and more slow paced than seoul, with its own vibe and culture (and even dialect)

not many people know this, but I seriously considered moving from seoul to busan while I was living in korea. I ended up not being able to give up my friends and the community I’d worked so hard to build in seoul, but busan still holds a very special place in my heart 💕

busan is more than worth adding to your korea itinerary. as a former local, I now design custom korea trips, including big hitters and more hidden gems, based completely on YOUR travel style and goals 🔗 link in bio to enquire today!

how to spend a day in the world’s coolest neighbor how to spend a day in the world’s coolest neighborhood, jongno 3-ga 🛍️☕️🍜

@timeouttravel just named seoul’s jongno 3-ga as the coolest neighborhood in the world in 2026, and as a former local, I TOTALLY see why 🌟

known best for ikseongdong but also having more local experiences to offer, it’s the perfect place to spend a day of shopping, cafe hopping, photo ops, eating, and drinking in seoul 🏙️

so here’s all you need to know to enjoy a day in this seoul neighborhood and see exactly why it earned this honor 🥇

I design custom korea itineraries as a korea travel expert, so if you want to make sure you’re getting your seoul trip RIGHT, stop scrolling! link in bio for a fully supported korea trip 🔗🇰🇷
